Adventure! Why we need it!

Is it time to put some adventure in your life?

It’s so easy for us to become stuck in a rut, in a routine, doing the same thing day in and day out. Wake up, go to work, come home, eat, sleep, repeat. It’s the same thing every day. It becomes our comfort zone.

But is this really living or just surviving and going through the motions. Where is the risk? Where is the adventure? Is this living life to the fullest?

My goal is to help people add some adventure to their life. To get out of the repetition and boringness of everyday life.

So what is adventure and how does it improve our health and wellbeing?

Adventure is doing something bold, encountering risks, or an exciting or remarkable experience. It’s an experience that leaves a mark on your life. An experience that impacts your life and starts to define how you live.

As Eleanor Roosevelt once stated, “The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” In other words, we grow and become our best selves when we take advantage of new adventures.

Adventure is different for everyone. For some it’s climbing Mt. Everest or doing a Tough Mudder. For others, it’s hiking in a nearby park or eating exotic food.

My clients find that adding adventure into their lives on a regular basis helps them to:

  • Get out of their safety bubble and regular routine
  • Improve mood
  • Forget about work problems for a short period of time
  • Decrease stress
  • Overcome fears
  • Swap adventure stories with others
  • Change how we view time

How will you know if it’s time for you to add some adventure to your life?

It’s time for you to add adventure to your life if you answer “yes” to any of the following

  • Your stuck in the same daily routine day in and day out, week after week
  • You feel blah about life
  • You listen to other people’s exciting stories, but don’t have any to share yourself
  • You find yourself eating, drinking, watching TV, shopping, or anything else to numb out.
  • You haven’t learned or tried anything new in a while
  • You feel the itch to do something challenging and a little crazy
  • You can’t remember the last time you did something adventurous

If you said yes, to any of those, it is time to add some adventure into your life.

In my  coaching practice, I help clients add adventure to their life, which can be difficult for those who don’t see the value in taking vacation days or time away from work and home, but we all need adventure, whether it be eating at a new restaurant, hiking in a park, zip lining, or skydiving.

If you answered “YES” to any of the conditions above, then click here now to schedule a time to talk with me about how you can add some adventure to your life!

Life is too short. As Andy Dufresne said in Shawshank Redemption, “Get busy living or get busy dying.”
